USPS Rate and Structure Change Information
On May 12, the USPS will adjust prices for Market Dominant products(i.e. First Class, Periodicals, Standard Mail and special services). The average increase by class of mail is at or below the rate of inflation as measured by the Consumer Price Index.
Pricing Highlights:
•A First Class Mail stamp will be $0.42.
•No change in the First Class Mail single-piece additional-ounce price.
•Lower additional-ounce price for presorted First Class Mail letters.
•Lower pound price for Standard Mail saturation and high-density flats.
•Shape-based pricing for First Class Mail International letters, flats, and parcels.
•First Class Mail International price groups expand from five to nine groups.

The USPS will announce new prices for Competitive Product shipping services (i.e. Express Mail, Priority Mail, Parcel Select and International Mail) in March.
Future Changes:
Consistent with the Postal Accountability and Enhancement Act (www.usps.com/postallaw) the USPS will adjust mailing services prices each May. By law, these prices can increase on average no more than the rate of inflation as measured by the Consumer Price Index. The USPS plans to provide 90 days notification on future rate changes, to help mailers prepare for the change. |
